Robot learning needs records of work that failed as well as work that succeeded. Bellboy's Live Learning Lab, launched October 21, sells a way to gather that evidence in buildings where robots already operate, alongside a service for evaluating models under defined conditions.

Bellboy says customers can bring models while it supplies the robots, operations and data. The offering includes labeled episodes, evaluation scorecards and digital twins matched to physical trials. Its advertised scorecards separate autonomous, assisted, failed and invalid runs. That separation is central to assessing a robot rather than merely watching its best attempt. Operating data needs an accounting system

An intervention changes the interpretation of a completed task. If a person opens a stuck drawer or restores an object, the eventual success is useful operational evidence, but it is not evidence of uninterrupted autonomy. Retaining that sequence helps a developer understand what the model needs to learn and what the operating service currently supplies.

Bellboy reports more than 10,000 hours on shift and 24,000 room inspections across its fleet. Those totals establish the scale it claims for the operating base; they do not specify how a new customer's model will perform, or which tasks and conditions are represented in an individual dataset.

Rights and coverage are part of the product

The company says it controls the rights to the episodes it supplies. Buyers still need to examine the agreement's permitted uses, privacy treatment and whether the data represents their target environment. A large dataset from predictable hotel rooms may leave gaps for another building layout, object set or service workflow.

The near-term value is a shorter route to physical evaluation without building an operations team from scratch. The limit is that outsourcing collection does not outsource the definition of success. Customers need an agreed trial count, conditions and treatment of invalid runs before comparing model versions.

If the service produces comparable records of both success and recovery, it could make physical learning more systematic. The decisive next evidence is customer evaluation showing that improvements persist on withheld conditions and reduce interventions in subsequent shifts.
